Meet our SE Sales Rep

posted on by in Uncategorized

Say hello to Gary Powell, one of Percival Scientific’s sales representatives. Starting in 1992, Gary represented Percival while working for another company. Shortly after, he was offered his own territory in 1995. Gary covers the southeastern United States, covering 5 states total. Gary assists customers on the best product to purchase, walks them through that purchasing process and ensures they are satisfied after the order is received.

“In the 3 years I have worked at Percival Scientific, I have had the pleasure of working with Gary Powell. Gary is a tenacious customer advocate who excels in relationship building,” says Jamie Jackson, Percival Scientific’s Sales Manager. “Obviously having a relationship with Percival for over 25 years has made Gary very knowledgeable, but whenever there are product updates, he strives to learn all he can so that he is fully prepared when he shares information with our customers. He is truly an asset that we are very fortunate to partner with.”

Percival Scientific has always been based in the Midwest and Gary is no stranger to Midwestern roots. He grew up in Zion, Illinois where he graduated from high school. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, Edwardsville and his Master’s degree from Purdue University in Civil Engineering. Gary served in the U.S. Navy for 6 years. After retiring from the Navy and before coming to Percival, he worked at a variety of places doing a variety of different jobs. Some of those include teaching science, working at McDonnell Aircraft (now Boeing), Brunson Instrument Company and Capital Products.

Gary says it is the excellent Percival employees, products and most importantly, the customers that make working with the company so enjoyable. He says, “I could not wish for a better company to represent!”

Outside of work, Gary enjoys working on home projects and helping neighbors and friends with fix-it projects as well. In addition, he and his wife love to travel and visit their two sons and their families – which include 5 grandkids.

Thank you Gary for all of your time and dedication to helping Percival and our customers create better science! We appreciate you and all that you do!

Fun Fact: Gary’s favorite color is blue and his favorite food is his wife’s lasagna. Gary says if he could meet anyone famous (dead or alive), he’d like to meet Jesus Christ, as his faith is extremely important to him. Also, if he could travel anywhere in the world right now (COVID aside), he and his wife would like to take a train across Canada to see the sites!
