Greeted with a smile at Percival

Susie Riley began working at Percival Scientific in August 2015. She is the company’s Administrative Assistant. Susie does a variety of tasks like answering the phone, factory payroll, creating job packets for the production floor, entering and invoicing parts orders and assisting visitors.

“Susie is usually the first person that our customers and visitors interact with,” says Gary Wheelock, President and CEO of Percival Scientific. “She always has a positive, upbeat attitude no matter what the situation is. That attitude clearly shines through to everyone she encounters, whether on the phone or in person. Susie is truly a great ambassador for Percival Scientific.”

Before coming to Percival, Susie working for 15 years at a car dealership. She was a service advisor as well as a warranty administrator during her time there. She graduated from Nesco High School in Zearing, Iowa (now known as Colo-Nesco). However, Susie hasn’t always called Iowa, “home.” She actually lived in Kansas from 2000-2014 before making the move back.

Susie says it’s the work environment and her co-workers that make working at Percival so enjoyable. “We all get along really well with each other!” She says that people are always lending a helping hand to one another as needed.

Outside of work, Susie enjoys getting outside when the weather is nice. She loves gardening and working outside in her yard. In addition, she also likes various craft activities included refurbishing furniture. Susie is an Iowa State fan and a twist, a big Kansas Jayhawk fan!

Fun Fact: Susie’s favorite foods include Italian or Mexican food. She’s a big animal lover and has one dog at home, Jersey. If she could travel anywhere in the world right now (COVID aside), Susie says she’d travel to Scotland because it’s beautiful and would be fun to explore old castles.
