Former Intern Now Full-Time Manufacturing Engineer

posted on by in Uncategorized

Trevor Volz began his career with Percival in March of 2016 as an intern from Iowa State University. After graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a brief position as continuous improvement engineer with another manufacturing company, Trevor joined Percival as a manufacturing engineer.

Trevor utilizes his engineering skills and experience on the machinery used to manufacture Percival’s growth chambers and control rooms. He’s an expert when it comes to sheet metal, welding and powder coating. He is also responsible for facility maintenance.

“Every day is new adventure,” says Trevor.  “Every day presents new challenges and issues that keep you on your feet and always busy. Obstacles are what make working at Percival worthwhile; especially when you conquer them. I enjoy working for a company that makes such a unique product that aids in the research and development throughout the entire world that could one day lead to cures and answers to many world issues. Without our product, some of those solutions may never be solved.”

Outside of his engineering domain, Trevor enjoys diving into woodworking projects, golfing, hunting and spending time with his large family – which includes his almost 7-month-old daughter, Lena.

Thank you, Trevor, for your dedication to Percival Scientific and for helping to Create Better Science! We appreciate you!

Fun Fact: Trevor’s favorite foods include chicken pot pie, coffee cake and monkey bread.
